I feel that conflict response explains why men open the door for females because it is a male dominance. By opening the door for a woman the man is showing that he is stronger and a leader. It is also showing that he is in charge of the situation because he is not allowing the woman to open the door for herself. He is showing he is in charge and that he has the power not the woman.

I think that men hold the door open for women varies from man to man. In some cases it's because they are trying to look stronger, in some cases it's because they are trying to be polite, or in some cases they don't really know why they were just taught that that's what they were supposed to do.

I believe the functionalist view best describes the perspective of why men hold the door for women. It has to do with gender socialization and it has been stemmed into our culture. They are traditional roles that are implied into society.

i think that the function view best explains the phenomena of men holding doors for women. i think that this is because in this section of the text it said that women are more emotional, and men are more practicle, so this means that men should hold the door for women because that is a physical job. basically men are sapose to be the physical sex and that means that they should do this small deed.
with out keeping the text in mind, i think that is is simply proper and nice to go out of your way and help a women with a door or anything.

I think that "The Conflict Response" expains the topic of men holding the door for woemn. It explains how they think men and women are unequaled and physical dominance. I guess they are trying to say that women have power so it would be "polite" for men to treat women with respect.

The conflict Response best explains the phenomena of men holding doors for women. The conflict response says that men dominate women physically because of their size, strength, and freedon from child bearing. If men have more strength than women, it will be easy for them to hold the door for women. Child bearing is also a major responsibility for women. Holding the door is a very minor responsibility that men should have. They will not require much strength to hold the door for women. Men are considered to be in a dominant position over women. If men dominate women, they should be able to hold the door for women. The conflict response also shows that womens work is devalued and mens work is valued. Men will show women that their work is valued and they respect them by holding the door for women. It is polite and will be a sign of respect if men hold the door for women.

I think the conflict responce best explains this. It says that men have physical dominance over women, and by helping them with the door they are asserting this dominance. The conflict responce also states that men and women have unequal power. A man holding a door may be just trying to be polite.

In certain societies men feel that they are dominant and they are higher than women so they need to do things for women. In the feminist approach section men view women as second class and they feel women cant do things for themselves.
