I agree with this for the most part. While women are treated as exact equals to men yet, we have made enormous progress towards reaching our final goals. We are so much closer to reaching this dream than we were even as soon as 30 years ago. Still, I don't think we should stop fighting for female equality, but I agree that we still have work to do.

The women's movement only completed some of the goals because there is still inequality in the US when it comes to women. Now there are more women in school but there are still women who are being beat by husbands who are alcoholics. This can not be changed unless alchol is banned in the USA or maybe in certain states. Women are still looked at as weak when it comes to work. No matter what we fight for there will never be equality between men and women because we cannot change a persons thoughts or beleifs.

I do Agree. Women are making progress to make things better. They emproved for better education for women. In 1920, half of all students attending higher education were women. Women gained education rights and passed prohibiton acts.

Christine,
It would be great to compare domestic violence today to then. Have the numbers shown us that domestic violence is "worse" today? Increasing? decreasing? Unclear?

Emily,
What exactly were the goals of the Suffrage Movement? Was it equality? Or the right to be different, as women, and because of that difference have the right to vote? (i.e. women as civilizers, as crusaders, etc.)

i agree with what the document says, because there is really nothing to disagree on.
i do believe that women have had an unequal chance in our society. i also agree with everything that it says about what women fought for, once they gained the right to vote. i agree with this because collectivity women want the best for society.
to jump off of what Emily says, i do think there are many things to overcome when it comes to equality, but they are only small problems.

I think that it's unquestionable that women's rights have made a lot of progress in the past few decades. But, I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing for women to want to keep fighting for more freedoms, and trying to break the stereotypes that all men are better then women. At certain things like physical stength, yes typically guys are stronger. But, girls are capable of becoming stronger, they just have to work harder to get to that point. Plus, there are some women that don't fit the stereotypes of women at all. I think that it's perfectly reasonable for women to fight to change people's mindset to judging people on an individual basis instead of by stereotype.
