What are your thoughts about the resistance to apartheid? As a minority group, what were the issues faced by black South African? What was the basis of race in South Africa? (Culture, Biology, Physical Traits)

My thoughts of resistance to apartheid was that they made it better emtionally for themselves by singing musically songs for basically every situation that they were in. They used instruments and vocals to release their pain, sorry and anger. As a minority group in South Africa they were treated unequal and unhumanly. Blacks would be murdered for any reason please by whites just because they felt that they were superior to blacks. The Basis of race was basically everything in South Africa because what race you were effected the way you acted(this included culture, religion, etc.), how you were treated by people of other races.

The apartheid in South Africa was the depression of blacks done by the whites, who ran the government. How the blacks resisted it was very inspiring. A common why they resisted was being non-violence following the way of passiveness. The blacks in South Africa stayed strong and eventually their efforts were not in vain. They forced migration, the whites forced the blacks to live in run down poor areas. They forced them to go to school in run down poor areas, where the education was very poor. The whites forced the blacks to live unfair lives. In South Africa the whites were the "kings" and the blacks were their "peasants".

Apartheid was an institution to make sure that blacks never rose to a high rank in society, it was like the Jim Crow laws in America, however, these were actual laws that were enforced by the police. I think that the resistance to apartheid was a good thing for the South African society. That is because it brought the society together to fight towards a common goal. The struggle built unity among the people that live in the area. The resistance was also good because it fought an unjust system that was designed to keep blacks as the poorest group in the country, by limiting their rights to do things. Some of the things the blacks faced under apartheid were, that they could not leave certain areas of the community without their passbooks, which acted as a passport, however only blacks had to carry it. Also they were not give education that was equal to that of the whites in the country. Race was based on color, and your race determined what you would end up being in society. If you were white, you had many more opportunities than those of the black or other minority groups.
