Evaluate the statement, "Women around the world want political power." Use examples from the film,"Women, power, and politics."

And they have their right to want that power. This is a new age, everything is changing. Women today are becoming our men of the future. Women today are looking to women who have come before them to inspire them. With every newly inspired womem; inspired to be active in a growing women's world. Active in women's rights, women's roles in politices. After, years and years of deprassion women are now fighting back, and i saw more power to them.
It is only a matter of time before this is a women's world.

The statement "Women around the world want political power." was proven through the film seen in class. There are countries in the world that have a majority of women in high electoral roles. For example, in Rwanda, there are a lot of high offices that are held by women. Even roles like police commissioner, are taken by women. Women around the world have risen to higher statuses. With building a stronger and more stable work force, they have started to enter the political aspects of society. In the video it stated that less than 20 states have a female governor. Although, that may make it seem as if they (women) do not have a high interest in politics, it isn't true. Compared to the roles that they had about 50 years ago. Women have taken a more active role in government and that is due to the expansion of rights, seen in the past decades.

Women today do want political power because times are changing and women want to be treated equally. Also as shown in the film there are more and more women today becoming interested in politics. Like at the all girls school where high school girls are debating on todays issues and are interested in politics. They want to be heard and not be judge because of their gender. Women can do anything a man can do and today we are showing it by having a woman becoming president in Chile. Who knows we may soon have our first woman president if more and more women contiue to get into politics.
